Batting for England

Sport is at the top of the agenda for 14-year-old Daniel Hosuego who is the youngest boy to be selected for the Under-15 England Cricket Team.

Daniel, who has been playing for the Oxfordshire county cricket team since he was 12, was awarded a full sports scholarship at The oratory. As well as making sure he performs well for the school, he plays football for Oxford United.

His mother, Beryl, said: "I am so proud of Daniel, it is such an achievement to be selected for the England cricket team and he has worked very hard.

"But now the hard work begins because he has to make sure he stays at the top. He has to strike a balance between very long school days and his matches."

But Daniel doesn't seem to mind the pressure. he said: "I was selected for the England team; it was quite a shock when I found out I had definitely been selected but I am really looking forward to playing next year."
