Our "volunteer" team is committed to making cricket accessible to, and fun for, young people - boys and girls, regardless of background - and to nurturing and developing talent wherever it is found.
To deliver those objectives, Berkshire runs a comprehensive Development Programme:
Schools Cricket Roadshow
- Coaching in 40 primary/5 secondary schools
Kwik Cricket Festivals
- Part of national Year 6 (10- to 11-year-olds) Kwik Cricket Competition - at 20 venues
- Regional winners get to play at Trent Bridge
Focus Clubs
- Some 5-10 of 32 clubs supported each year
- Clubmark and endorsed development plan
District Cricket
- Programme for U12/13’s and U14/15’s
- Each squad given winter/summer coaching
County Cricket
- Boys’ U10 to U17; Girls’ U13/15/17 squads
- Training programme & inter-county fixtures
Academy
- Most talented 5-10 selected each year
- Exposure to surrounding first-class counties
- Coaching mentor for winter/summer support
